WORKSHOPS!
re.Boot: to restart or revive
A workshop to minimize compensation patterns to revive movement Practices
re.Boot
Have you ever had that sense that you just couldn’t “find” a muscle, or that you couldn’t “get out of your neck/back/hip flexors”?
It is likely that a compensation/inhibition relationship that starts at the motor control center exists. Consciously it is very difficult to break the pattern. I have personally seen and felt that through Pilates and mindful movement practices, it is possible, but what if using neuromuscular techniques you are able to access that connection sooner?
A workshop and class based upon classical mat work
with an exploration of the compensation patterns, or cheats, if you will that I commonly see.
Becoming aware of compensation patterns and tools that can be used to release and reset them can lead to a greater effectiveness of your Pilates practice. I address the most common compensation patterns, and interactively look at how it affects the Pilates practice, both for yourself and your clients.
The format is about 50% interactive lecture/discussion and 50% workout. Workshops can be formatted for yoga and fitness.

Extremities
In Pilates we often draw our attention to the core first then to the extremities- without lessening the importance of central core focus, what happens when we draw attention to how we move in the extremities, looking at movement in the feet, the hands and the head during the Pilates repertoire. re.Bel
Dare to break ‘rules’ of movement and explore moving differently- bridging the gap between organic movement and the focused movements of Pilates. We will tap into the nervous system’s ability to self organize into movement patterns to find a more natural strength. |
re.Align
A movement class exploring the 3 planes of motion – sagittal, frontal, and transverse. Working supine, seated, prone, and standing we will explore movement possibilities increasing range of motion, mobility and even challenge your sense of balance! With a twist
Rotation & anti rotation- exploring the qualities of rotation in the body in terms of both flexibility and stability. |
re. Move
A workshop exploring the end ranges of movement within the classical repetoire- By re.moving the rules that typically govern how we believe that we can move, we can increase the ranges of motion and muscle activation. We thus teach our neurological system that more range is possible, thus finding a more comfortable neutral balance point, increasing both mobility and stability. We explore the classical system on all apparatus with an eye to moving beyond our typical limits. |
